A Message For Victims (Angels with Broken Wings)

Dear Broken-Winged Angel,

You don't know me yet, but someday, you will. I don't plan on hiding out forever. I want you to know that we have a lot of people who are coming out to protect us. We've got some pretty badass attorneys and advocates, and really bold and beautiful other victims who want to help. I have sent messages to some of you to let you know about how to get your pictures down. Some of you didn't know why I was sending you a message because you didn't know about your pictures yet. I cried as I emailed you back to let you know. Some of you have deactivated your social media accounts because you feel so ashamed. I don't blame you. Some of you have probably even thought about deactivating your life. Please don't. Because there are thousands of others around you who want you to stay. Your pain will not last forever. I know that there are days when it feels like it will; but, it won't.

For the first time, a couple of days ago, I talked to another victim, who happens to run EndRevengePorn.com.  It was the first time, in a long time, that I got to say my name without fear of judgment. I cried a shitload. I couldn't stop. But she didn't say, "Oh, just get over it." She didn't say, "It's your fault." She said, "Cry. It's okay. When you're ready to be done, you'll be done. But until then, just cry, and one day, the tears won't come anymore." Of course, that made me cry some more. But in my heart, I started feeling the first ray of hope. 

EndRevengePorn and I are teaming up so we can help all of you. There's a lot to be done, but we are getting there. And there's a lot that we are doing behind the scenes that we can't tell you about right now. But please hold onto that.
